Hi Hedgehogs,
I hope everyone is doing well.
This week we have done lots of exciting learning.
Maths - we have been applying our addition and subtraction skills to solve mixed equations and deepen our understanding of two parts meaning we add and a whole and a part means we subtract. We practised our knowledge using number lines to help us.
English - we have been learning about joining two sentences together using and.
e,g, The black wolf growled. The big troll ran away.
This became - The black wolf growled and the big troll ran away,
We learned that we had to removed the full stop before the and and the capital letter after the and before we could add it.
Geography - We took a trip to Wales this week and learned about the capital city Cardiff. We learned that Welsh symbols are leeks and daffodils, that there are lots of castles and the Welsh flag has a dragon on it! We even learned that Miss Sutherland's Granny grew up near Cardiff.
Art - We recapped the primary colours and learned how to mix these together to create the seconday colours of purple, green and orange. We also experimented mixing different amounts of primary colours together to see which shades we could make.
PSHE - We thought about what made a good friend for anti-bullying week and how important it is to be lovely and kind to everyone. We created a class recipe for the perfect friend.
