Hedgehogs Show and Tell 8.10.20

Class: Hedgehogs Year: 2020 - 2021

Hi all,

I hope you are doing well.  In Hedgehogs class we have been keen to start up show and tells and have considered how we can do this to try and help keep everybody safe and to keep the things that are important to us safe.

I wanted to take the time to outline what will happen for show and tell on here as it is difficult for me to say in person to you all at the moment.

If you have any questions about it at all please do not hesitate to get in touch.

When will it happen and how often?

Show and tell will take place on a Friday during snack time.  To ensure every child has time to talk if they want to share something then we have a rota in place - this means that each week a different row will have their turn to share a show or a tell if they want to.

Children do not have to participate if they do not want to.  Our rota will be up in our classroom so the children can see when it is their turn and I will remind them each week.  We are starting next Friday (16.10.20) with row number 1.  I will remind your child if they are on this row, and if your child is not sure please feel free to ask me or email me and I'll let you know.

What and how to share?

In year 1 we encourage children to show and tell information and things that are related to learning which is currently Into the Woods.  This may be some home learning they have done, some art, facts they have learnt about the world around them or something interesting they have found out.  Please no sharing or telling of toys.

Tells - your child will talk to the class about their tell and answer questions, they just need to ensure that they know what they want to share.

Shows - at the moment we cannot bring shows into school if there is something that your child would like to show if possible please take a photo of your child with that item and email it to me.  I will then be able to show this on our interactive whiteboard in the classroom.  If this is not possible your child can draw a picture of what they would like to show during their time at school..

Thank you for all your continued support,

Miss Sutherland
