Class: Hedgehogs Year: 2020 - 2021

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.  We've had a very exciting week in Hedgehogs and all of the children have worked really hard.

This is what we have been learning about:

English - we have been learning about using the suffixes -ed / -ing / -er and -est and also using the prefix un-.  We practised adding them onto words and then putting them into sentences.

We also practised are curly caterpillar letters and were all handwriting heroes and heroines!

Maths - we have been learning about adding within 50.  We recapped our knowledge that part + part = whole.  We then practised adding using a 100 grid and using dienes practically to solve equations such as 37 + 2 = and 41 + 7 =.

PSHE - we have been learning about what keeps us healthy and what we can do to look after our bodies including eating a balanced diet, brushing our teeth and getting lots of sleep!

Science - we have thought about naming animals that are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and we sorted them into groups by what they eat.

PE - we have continued the Break Out Dance Project thinking about moving into time to the music and mirroring our parterns.

PPA - we have thought about David Attenborough and why he is a significant person.  We also discussed the changes that have happened to the polar ice caps and things that we can do to help.

RE - we thought about Buddhism and considered what Buddists believe, we made models of Buddha, practised meditating and ordered the story of The Monkey King.

Have a lovely bank holiday.
