Ask Me About wk beginning 22.3.21

Class: Hedgehogs Year: 2020 - 2021

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well and have had a lovely week.  The week we have been learning:

Maths - find quarter of a number and an amount.

English - we have written our own story openers in the style of Billy and the Dragon, we have written about the Easter story and practised our zig zag letters in handwriting.

PSHE - we thought about our worry monsters; what makes us feel worried and what we can do to help us get back to our thinking brain.  We thought about doing bubble breathing, cuddling a teddy or person we love, reading a book or eating some of our favourite food.

Art - we have done some string printing with Miss Peersman to create flames for our Great Fire of London scenes.  We have also sketched tudor houses and used our collaging skills to create tudor house sihouettes.

We have also had a special art workshop with the illustrator Stephan Waterhouse where we created our own characters in the style of his book 'The Runaway Chipati' .

PE - we continued to develop our skills with the game Speedy Pass to consider how to make it more challenging for the fielders.  In gymnastics we worked with a partner to create a sequence using balances and travelling.

RE - we have thought about the Easter story, and we enjoyed discussing this very much.  We also learned about Judiasm and things that are important to them such as they pray at a synogogue.

We have really have enjoyed our learning this week.  Next week we will be making our own tudor houses in DT and on Thursday it is our special Reading for Pleasure day where we can come dressed in our pyjamas or comfy clothes if we wish.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.
