Class: Hedgehogs Year: 2020 - 2021

Hi all,

I hope you are all doing well.

This week in Hedgehogs we have done lots of exciting learning.  We also have had the lovely Miss Peersman (a student teacher) join us this week, and we have loved working with her and getting to know her.

Maths: In maths we have recapped finding half of numbers and quantities.  We have also started learning about finding a quarter (making 4 equal parts) of objects and shapes.

English - We have recapped writing simple sentences and then also joining sentences using 'and'.  We also did an independent write imagining we were flying on the back of a dragon.  We thought about where we might go and what we might see.  We have also practised our one armed robot letters.

Wider curriculum:

RSHE - we thought about our angry monsters.  What makes us feel angry and what we can do to calm ourselves down.

RE - we thought about the creation story and drew a picture to represent one day.

Art - we did some string art printing in the style of Linda Richardson to create Tudor inspired houses.  We also sketched in the style of Richardson.

PE - we learned the striking and fielding game of Speedy Pass which we needed to practise our throwing and catching skills.  In gymnastics we recapped travelling at different levels and practised combining different ways of travelling to make a movement sequence.

We have also thought about St Patrick's day and what makes a good friend.  On Friday we wore red to celebrate Red Nose Day and really enjoyed Mrs Harrison's dancethon.

All the Hegdehogs have worked really hard and we hope you all have a lovely weekend.
