DOBCROFT INFANT SCHOOL

Victorian Classroom Day in Owls Class

Lesson: History

On Tuesday 8th May the Year 2s were transported back to Victorian times. We dressed up as Victorian school children. We began the day with silent reading, followed by a hand inspection and singing the national anthem. In the morning we took lessons in the 3 Rs; Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. We wrote in chalk and sat in rows. Our teachers were very strict. They punished children with the cane or dunces’ cap. In the afternoon we did some observational charcoal sketches.

We had a good day but are glad we go to school in 2018! Here are some photos of our Victorian Day experience.
